Product Photography for Bangladesh Ecommerce — Budget Tips

Bad product photos lose sales. Good product photos close sales. You do not need a professional studio — a smartphone and good light are enough to start. Here is how.

Lighting Is Everything

Stand near a large window during the day. Natural daylight is the best light. Face the product toward the window. Avoid flash — it creates harsh shadows and makes products look cheap. If shooting at night, use two white LED lights at 45-degree angles to the product.

Use a White or Plain Background

A white background makes your product look clean and professional — the same style used by Daraz and Amazon. Use a large white poster board from any stationery shop (costs ৳50–100). Tape it to a wall and curve it onto a table.

Shoot Multiple Angles

  • Front view (hero shot)
  • Side view
  • Back view (show labels, ingredients)
  • Close-up of important details
  • Lifestyle shot — product being used

Smartphone Settings

  • Use portrait mode for single products
  • Turn on gridlines and keep the product centered
  • Clean your lens before shooting
  • Use a mini tripod (costs ৳500–800 on Daraz) to avoid blur

Free Editing Apps

  • Snapseed — best free photo editor for smartphones
  • Remove.bg — automatically removes background
  • Canva — add product name and price overlay

How Many Photos Per Product?

Aim for 5–8 photos per product: 3 clean white-background shots, 1 lifestyle shot, 1 close-up detail, 1 size comparison. More photos = more trust = more sales.
