Microfinance accounting where every transaction posts itself
Loan disbursements, instalments, savings, interest and provision become balanced vouchers automatically, branch books agree with head office, and statements are ready every month.

Microfinance accounting software records the financial side of a microfinance programme: loans to members, service charge income, member savings, interest on savings, loan loss provision, borrowings and branch-head office accounts. EOMS BD's system creates these vouchers automatically from the MIS, reconciles them every month and produces the financial statements and regulator reports for Bangladeshi MFIs.

Why microfinance accounting is harder than ordinary bookkeeping
A microfinance programme makes thousands of small transactions a week, spread across branches, products and fund sources. General accounting packages are not built for that.
Volume
Every instalment holds principal and service charge, and every samity meeting adds savings entries.
Many branches
Funds move between head office and branches daily, and each move must appear on both sides.
Accruals and provision
Accrued service charge, interest on savings and provision change every month and depend on loan ageing.
Fund sources
PKSF loans, bank loans, grants and own funds must be tracked separately for lenders and auditors.
Pick a transaction and watch the voucher build itself
Choose a loan disbursement, an instalment, a savings deposit, month-end interest, provision or a head-office transfer. The demo shows the debit and credit lines appear and checks that the voucher balances.

Frequently asked questions
It is the accounting of a microfinance programme: loans to members, service charge income, member savings and interest, loan loss provision, borrowings, funds and reserves, and branch-head office accounts.
Cash is debited with the full amount, the loan to members account is credited with the principal part and service charge income is credited with the service charge part.
Provision expense is debited and the loan loss provision account is credited. The amount comes from classifying outstanding loans by days overdue and applying the required rates.
