Affordable E-commerce Website Development in Bangladesh — What You Get in Writing

An affordable store is one where you pay only for what your business needs now, own everything you pay for, and know every future cost before you sign. This page explains how EOMS BD scopes, quotes and delivers on those terms.

Quick answer

Affordable e-commerce development means scoping the store to what your business needs to start selling, building it so features can be added later without a rebuild, and putting every cost and ownership term in a written, line-by-line quote. EOMS BD builds custom stores on Laravel and Next.js, hands over the full source code and admin panel, and registers the domain and hosting in your name. The quote separates first-year costs from every year after, so there are no hidden charges.

  • Every store includes the full admin panel, source code, database, free lifetime SSL and daily backups.
  • No theme or plugin licence fees: the system is custom, not WordPress or WooCommerce.
  • Domain and hosting renewals are paid directly to the providers, not to EOMS BD.
  • Three milestone instalments, each released only after you review the work on a demo link.
  • 6 months of free support and 1 year of free bug fixing after launch.

What should "affordable" mean for an e-commerce website?

Affordable should mean good value over the life of the store, not the lowest figure on day one. A cheap build that locks you into a vendor, needs paid plugins every year or has to be rebuilt when you grow usually costs more in the end.

When prospective clients receive a proposal, their first question is often whether everything they want will fit their budget. The honest answer depends on what "everything" means for their business. A boutique selling forty dresses needs a different system from a packaging supplier quoting custom orders, or a marketplace with dozens of vendors. So before quoting, we look at four things:

  • What you sell, how many products and variants you have, and how often stock changes.
  • Where orders come from today: Facebook, phone, walk-in, or an existing site.
  • How customers pay and how orders are delivered.
  • Who will run the store day to day, and what each person should be allowed to see or change.

From that, we propose a first phase that lets you sell properly, and list the features that can wait. You decide what goes in; the quote records the decision.

What every store includes, whatever the budget

Some things are never cut to reduce cost, because cutting them creates risk you would pay for later. These are included in every EOMS BD store.

  • Full admin panel for products, categories, prices, stock, orders, customers and content.
  • Full source code and database, handed over with all credentials.
  • Domain and hosting in your name, with the provider and package specifications shared before you buy.
  • Free SSL for the lifetime of the site and daily backups.
  • Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel set up on your own accounts.
  • A fully animated, mobile-first design built on Next.js/React, backed by a Laravel REST API, MySQL and Redis.
  • 6 months of free support and 1 year of free bug fixing, where a bug means a problem in a feature that already exists.

Because the system is custom-built rather than assembled from a theme and plugins, there are no recurring licence fees to keep it running.

What actually drives the cost of an e-commerce website

Cost is driven by scope: the number of distinct features, integrations and workflows the store has to support. Product count matters far less than most people expect; a store with a hundred products and a store with a thousand use the same catalogue engine.

Cost driverWhy it adds workHow to keep it lean
Payment methodsEach gateway needs its own integration and testing; mobile wallets such as bKash, Nagad and Rocket also need merchant approvalStart with cash on delivery plus one wallet; add card payments via SSLCommerz later
Courier integrationBooking parcels and syncing status from Steadfast, Pathao or RedX is real integration workEnter parcels manually at first if daily order volume is low
Custom order logicQuote calculators (for example packaging by size, ply, print and quantity) and advance payments on custom orders need bespoke rulesInclude only if custom orders are your core business
Staff roles and reportingRole permissions, activity logs and profit and loss reports add screens and rulesBegin with owner access; add staff roles when you hire
LanguagesBangla and English as two separate websites from one admin panel doubles the content layerLaunch in one language first
Marketing toolsA landing page builder, AI chatbot or WhatsApp order notifications are separate modulesAdd once you are running regular ads
Marketplace featuresVendor registration, dashboards, commission and payouts form a large system of their ownValidate demand with a single-seller store first

Start lean, then add features without a rebuild

The most effective way to stay within budget is to phase the build. The first phase must let you take, collect and deliver orders; later phases save time or grow sales.

  1. Phase one, selling: catalogue, search, cart and checkout, cash on delivery, orders and order status, stock management with low-stock alerts, customer accounts and the full admin panel.
  2. Phase two, operations: courier integration, staff accounts with role permissions and an activity log, WhatsApp order notifications, and sales, customer and profit and loss reports.
  3. Phase three, growth: landing page builder for ad campaigns, card payments, AI chatbot, a second-language website, or marketplace features.

Each new feature is priced by scope and agreed in writing before work starts. Because the backend is a structured Laravel API and the frontend is a separate Next.js application, new modules slot in without disturbing what is already live.

What the written quote covers

You receive a written, line-by-line quote after we understand your requirements. It lists every item of work, who each cost is paid to, and what you will pay in the first year and in each year after.

Section of the quoteWhat it states
ScopeThe features in this phase and those deliberately left for later
Setup workPayment, courier, deployment, SEO and tracking setup as separate lines
Third-party costsDomain and hosting, paid directly to the providers on your own accounts
Every year afterDomain and hosting renewals, plus optional maintenance if you want EOMS BD to look after the server
OwnershipDomain, hosting, admin panel, source code, database and credentials belong to you
Support6 months of free support, 1 year of free bug fixing, lifetime SSL, daily backups
Payment scheduleThree milestone instalments tied to visible deliverables

Payment gateway and courier companies charge their own transaction or delivery fees under your agreement with them; the quote makes clear that these are separate.

Milestone payments and delivery time

You pay in three milestone instalments: an advance, after the homepage design is approved, and after the admin panel is complete. At each stage the work is shown on a demo link, so you check it before releasing the next payment.

Once the advance and your content (logo, product photos and descriptions) are in, a full store typically takes about 25 to 30 days. A smaller scope can be faster; the timeline also depends on how quickly content and approvals come back. Optional yearly maintenance applies only if EOMS BD maintains your server; the site runs without it.

Ownership, and the red flags of a "cheap" website

A low price is only a saving if you own what you paid for. Ownership terms are written into the quote and contract, and there is no vendor lock-in: you can move the code and data to another developer or server whenever you choose.

Be cautious if a quote does not say whose name the domain is registered in, does not include the source code, hosts the site on the developer's own account, relies on paid plugins that renew every year, or says nothing about what the second year costs.

Why each ownership item matters is covered in detail on our source code and data ownership page, and the technology choice is explained on Laravel e-commerce development.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a full e-commerce website on a limited budget?

Yes, if the first phase is scoped to what you need to sell: catalogue, checkout, cash on delivery, orders, stock and the full admin panel. Features such as a landing page builder, AI chatbot or card payments can be added later without rebuilding the store. The quote records what is in each phase.

How much does an affordable e-commerce website cost in Bangladesh?

It depends on your scope, especially payment methods, courier integration, custom order logic, staff roles and languages. We send a written, line-by-line quote after understanding your requirements, showing first-year costs and every-year-after costs separately.

What do I pay after the first year?

Domain and hosting renewals, which you pay directly to those providers on your own accounts; they are not an EOMS BD charge. Yearly maintenance is optional and applies only if you want EOMS BD to look after your server.

Do I get the source code with an affordable package?

Yes. Every store comes with the full admin panel, source code, database and all credentials, and the domain and hosting are registered in your name. These terms are written into the quote and contract.

How long does it take to build the store?

Typically about 25 to 30 days for a full store once the advance and your content are received. A smaller scope can be quicker, and the timeline also depends on how fast content and approvals arrive.

Is the site built on WordPress?

No. Stores are custom-built with a Laravel backend and REST API, a Next.js/React frontend, MySQL and Redis. Because nothing depends on paid themes or plugins, there are no licence fees to renew.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, in three milestone instalments: an advance, after the homepage design is approved, and after the admin panel is complete. You review the work on a demo link at each stage before paying the next instalment.
