EOMS BD builds e-commerce websites on three milestone instalments: an advance, a second payment after you approve the homepage design, and a final payment once the admin panel is complete. Every stage is delivered on a demo link, so you check real, working pages before paying again. The amount of each instalment and the deliverable attached to it are set out in a written, line-by-line quote.
- Advance: scope confirmed, structure planned, homepage designed
- Second instalment: after you approve the homepage on the demo link
- Final instalment: after you test the finished admin panel and order flow
- Typically about 25 to 30 days once the advance and content are received
- Domain, hosting, source code and data are yours, in writing
How milestone payments work at EOMS BD
You pay for your website in three milestone instalments: an advance, a second instalment after you approve the homepage design, and a final instalment once the admin panel is complete. Each payment is tied to a defined piece of work, and every piece of work is shown to you on a demo link before the next payment is due.
The point of milestones is not simply to spread the cost. It is to make sure that money and progress move together. At any moment in the project you know what you have paid for, what has been delivered, and what comes next. Neither side carries all of the risk: you are never asked to fund the whole build before seeing anything, and the development team is not asked to build an entire store on a promise.
This structure works particularly well for:
- First-time store owners who want to see real progress before committing further.
- Overseas businesses hiring a development team in another country, where you cannot walk into the office to check on the work. If that is you, our guide to offshore e-commerce development for USA and UK businesses covers the wider engagement.
- Businesses with a fixed budget that prefer to pay as each stage is approved rather than all at once.
What each instalment delivers
The advance starts the project, the second instalment follows your sign-off on the homepage design, and the final instalment follows a working, tested admin panel. The table below shows what is built in each stage and what you should check before releasing the next payment.
| Milestone | When it is due | Work delivered in this stage | What you verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Advance | When the written quote is accepted | Feature list confirmed, reference designs reviewed, site structure and categories planned, homepage design built | That the quote lists every feature, the milestone schedule and the ownership terms |
| 2. Homepage approval | After you approve the homepage on the demo link | Category and product pages, search, cart, checkout and customer accounts in the approved design; admin panel build | Layout, branding, navigation and animation on both mobile and desktop |
| 3. Admin panel complete (final) | After you have tested the finished admin panel | Product and inventory management, orders and order status, payments, shipping, staff accounts with permissions, reports | A full test order from checkout to dispatch, plus stock, staff access and reporting |
We do not publish instalment amounts, because no two stores have the same scope. A catalogue with cash on delivery is a different project from a bilingual store with courier integration, custom quote forms or a multi-vendor marketplace. Once we understand your requirements, you receive a written, line-by-line quote that states the total, the amount of each instalment and the exact work attached to it.
Every milestone is reviewed on a demo link
A demo link is a working version of your store hosted for review, not a set of screenshots or a recorded walkthrough. You open it on your own phone or laptop, click through it, and decide for yourself whether the stage is complete.
- At the design stage you review the homepage as your customers will see it, on mobile and desktop.
- At the admin stage you receive an admin login, add products, change stock levels, place test orders and process them through to shipping.
- Feedback goes back as a single consolidated list. Items within the agreed scope are corrected and shown again on the demo link before you approve.
Because the review happens online, it suits clients in any time zone. You can check the demo at a time that suits you, leave notes, and we pick them up in our working day; conversations run over WhatsApp and email. The final stage deserves the most attention, and our acceptance testing guide for paying after the demo gives you a complete checklist.
Send feedback as one numbered list, with a screenshot and page link for each point. It is faster to act on than a stream of separate messages, and nothing gets lost between time zones.
How long it takes and how milestones fit the timeline
A full e-commerce store typically takes about 25 to 30 days once we have received the advance and your content. The real timeline depends on the scope and on how quickly content and approvals come back.
- Quote accepted and advance paid: scope and terms are fixed in writing and work begins.
- Content supplied: logo, categories, product photos and descriptions, policies and contact details.
- Homepage on the demo link: you review and send feedback.
- Homepage approved: second instalment, and the remaining pages and admin panel are built.
- Admin panel on the demo link: you test the full order flow and we resolve anything you find.
- Final instalment: the store goes live on your domain and hosting, and handover follows.
Milestones are linked to deliverables, not to calendar dates. If a stage is not ready for your approval, the next payment is not due. The most common causes of delay are content arriving late, feedback taking a while, and payment-provider approvals; for Bangladesh stores, bKash, Nagad and Rocket all require merchant approval before live payments can be switched on.
What the written quote puts on record
Everything that matters about money, scope and ownership is written into the quote before the advance is paid. Nothing important is left to a phone call.
- A line-by-line feature list, which later becomes your acceptance checklist.
- The amount of each of the three instalments and the deliverable that triggers it.
- First-year costs and every-year-after costs, listed separately.
- Domain registered in your name and email; hosting bought on your own account, with the provider and package specifications shared before purchase.
- Handover of the full admin panel, source code, database and all credentials, with no vendor lock-in.
- Search Console, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel set up on your own accounts.
- Six months of free support and one year of free bug fixing after launch; new features priced by scope and agreed before work starts.
- SSL free for the lifetime of the site, and daily backups.
The store is custom-built on Laravel and Next.js/React rather than WordPress or WooCommerce, so there are no theme or plugin licence costs to budget for. Domain and hosting renewals are paid directly to the providers, not to us. For a deeper look at what ownership should cover, read e-commerce website with full source code and data ownership.
Milestones compared with other payment models
Milestone payments sit between paying everything upfront and paying only on completion, and they share the risk more evenly than either. Here is how the three common models compare from a client's point of view.
| Model | Your risk | Visibility of progress | Typical problem |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full payment upfront | High: all funds committed before any work is seen | Low until delivery | Little leverage if quality or deadlines slip |
| Payment on completion only | Low on paper | Often low, as work may not be shared until the end | Hard to find a reliable team willing to work this way; disputes over what "complete" means |
| Milestone instalments | Limited to the current stage | High: each stage is reviewed on a demo link | Needs clearly defined deliverables, which the written quote provides |
Whoever you hire, avoid milestone terms that are vague, such as "balance on completion" without a definition of completion. Each milestone should name a specific, testable deliverable, and the ownership of the domain, hosting and code should be stated in the same document.
After the final milestone: launch, handover and support
Once the final instalment is paid, the store goes live on your own domain and hosting, and you receive the full admin panel, source code, database and every credential. From that point the system is entirely yours to run, extend or move.
Launch is followed by six months of free support and one year of free bug fixing, where a bug means a problem in an existing feature. Optional yearly maintenance is available if you would like us to look after the server, but the store runs perfectly well without it. If you later want new features, each is scoped and priced in writing before any work begins. Frequently asked questions
How much is each instalment?
Instalment amounts are set per project, because scope varies widely from store to store. After we understand your requirements, you receive a written, line-by-line quote showing the total, the amount of each of the three instalments, and the deliverable that triggers each one.
Can I pay the final instalment only after testing the site?
Yes. The final instalment falls due once the admin panel is complete and you have tested it on the demo link, including placing and processing test orders. Anything that does not work as described in the quote is fixed before you pay.
What if I do not like the homepage design?
Send your feedback as a list and we revise the design within the agreed scope, then show it again on the demo link. The second instalment is due only after you approve the homepage.
Do you work on milestones with clients outside Bangladesh?
Yes. We work with clients in the USA, UK and Malaysia using the same three-milestone process. Reviews happen on demo links and communication runs over WhatsApp and email, so time zones are not a barrier.
Where do domain and hosting fit into the payments?
Domain and hosting appear as separate lines in the quote and are registered in your name and on your own account. The quote shows first-year and every-year-after costs separately, and renewals are paid directly to the providers rather than to EOMS BD.
What happens if I want extra features during the project?
New features are scoped and priced in writing, and work starts only after you agree. They are added to the quote, and we tell you upfront if they affect the timeline.
